Reservation Rules
Reservation benefits are generally available to permanent residents of Bihar.
Candidates from other states are treated as Unreserved/General candidates.
SC and ST candidates must submit valid caste and Bihar residence certificates.
BC and EBC candidates must submit valid caste, residence and Non-Creamy Layer certificates.
EWS candidates must submit the prescribed Bihar income-and-asset certificate.
Women candidates may claim the applicable horizontal reservation for Bihar-resident women.
Dependants of freedom fighters must submit the prescribed FFW certificate.
Reservation benefits are granted only when the required certificates are valid and available during verification.
Category benefits cannot be claimed merely on the basis of a certificate issued by another state.

Intermediate/Class 12 or equivalent qualification from a recognised board.
Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Minimum 50% aggregate marks for general candidates.
Minimum 45% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates.

Merit List Rules
Written-examination marks are important for preparation of the merit list.
PET is qualifying and does not add marks to the merit score.
Merit is prepared according to category-wise vacancies and applicable reservation.
In case of a tie, CSBC’s prescribed tie-breaking rules apply.
Final appointment remains subject to document, medical and character verification.
