The Department of Posts, India Post has released a notification for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026. A total of 23,757 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts are available across various Postal Circles in India. The One-Time Registration process will start on 31 August 2026, while online application submission will begin on 02 September 2026.

Educational Qualification

Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) 2026 Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised Board with Mathematics and English as subjects and must have knowledge of the prescribed local language of the Postal Circle concerned.

Local Language Requirement

GDS Posts

Post Description
Branch Postmaster (BPM) Responsible for managing the Branch Post Office and carrying out postal operations.
Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) Assists with postal operations, delivery, transactions and other assigned duties.
Dak Sevak Performs mail delivery, postal services and other duties assigned by the Department of Posts.
