Recruitment Overview
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has released the Local Bank Officer (LBO) Recruitment 2026-27 notification for 250 Local Bank Officer vacancies in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). Eligible candidates can apply online from 08/08/2026 to 24/08/2026. The selected candidates will be posted in the state for which they have applied, subject to the conditions mentioned in the official notification. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 20 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
- Age Limit as on 01/08/2026.
- Date of Birth should be between 02/08/1996 and 01/08/2006, both dates inclusive.
- Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India Rules.
Eligibility
- Candidates must have a Graduation / Degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- The candidate must possess a valid Mark Sheet / Degree Certificate confirming graduation on the date of online registration.
- Candidates must enter the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while filling the online application form.
- Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking the mandatory local language of the state applied for.

State Application and Posting Rules
- Candidates can apply for one state only.
- A candidate applying for one state will not be eligible to apply for another state.
- The merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise.
- Selected candidates will be posted within the state selected by them for the first 12 years of service or until promotion to SMGS-IV, whichever is earlier.

- There is no sectional qualifying mark in the Online Examination.
- Minimum qualifying aggregate marks for Unreserved candidates: 35%.
- Minimum qualifying aggregate marks for Reserved candidates: 30%.
- There is a negative marking of 1/4th (0.25) of the marks assigned to the question for every wrong answer.
- No penalty is applicable for unanswered questions.
Personal Interview
- The Personal Interview carries 100 marks.
- Minimum qualifying marks for Unreserved candidates: 50%.
- Minimum qualifying marks for Reserved candidates: 45%.
- The final selection is based on the prescribed weightage of Online Examination and Personal Interview.
- The final merit list is prepared state-wise and category-wise.

Bond Details
- Selected candidates are required to execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of ₹2,00,000/-.
