Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, have released Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 03/2026 for recruitment to the post of Section Controller. A total of 119 vacancies have been notified across participating Railway Recruitment Boards and Zonal Railways. Eligible candidates having a University Degree or equivalent qualification can apply online from 15/07/2026 to 14/08/2026. The post carries 7th CPC Pay Level-6 with an initial pay of ₹35,400/-. Eligibility / Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a University Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University or Institution.
The prescribed qualification must be possessed on or before 14/08/2026.

RRB Application Rules
A candidate can apply to one RRB only.
Multiple applications may result in rejection of all applications.
The selected RRB generally cannot be changed after final submission.
Candidates must select the required Railway Zone preference within the selected RRB.
Check the vacancy distribution carefully before selecting an RRB.
Medical Standard and Vision Requirements
The prescribed medical standard is A-2.
Distant Vision: 6/9 and 6/9 without glasses.
Near Vision: Sn 0.6 and 0.6 without glasses.
Candidates must qualify the prescribed colour, binocular, night and myopic vision tests.
Candidates who have undergone LASIK or other refractive eye surgery are not eligible.
A prescribed Vision Certificate may be required for CBAT.
Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for every wrong answer.
Marks may be normalized in case of multiple shifts.
Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for UR/EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL/SC and 25% for ST.
CBT Syllabus / Topics
Analytical & Mathematical Capability: Number System, Ratio and Proportion, Average, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Algebra, Geometry, Data Interpretation, Tables, Charts and Graphs.
Logical Capability: Syllogism, Blood Relations, Clock and Calendar, Puzzles, Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.
Mental Reasoning: Analogy, Series Completion, Coding-Decoding, Ranking and Arrangement.
Computer Based Aptitude Test
Approximately 8 times the number of vacancies may be shortlisted for CBAT.
CBAT is conducted in English and Hindi.
There is no negative marking in CBAT.
Candidates must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery.
No relaxation is applicable in the minimum T-Score requirement.
Final Merit / Selection
Only candidates who qualify CBAT are considered for final merit.
Final merit uses 70% CBT marks and 30% CBAT marks.
Appointment is subject to Document Verification and qualifying the Railway Medical Examination.
RRB tie-breaking rules apply in case of equal merit.
